Masala Puri Recipe in 6 Steps – Perfect Snack or Breakfast
1 cup wheat flour, 1/2 tsp asafoetida, 1/2 tsp ajwain, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala, oil for frying, salt to taste
Ingredients
In a bowl, add the ajwain, asafoetida, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt to the wheat flour. Mix well to make a yummy base for your puris.
Step 1
Add water slowly and knead the mixture into a stiff dough. Cover it and keep aside for 15-20 minutes. Let the dough rest allows the flavours to blend completely.
Step 2
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a round puri. Keep the thickness consistent for frying.
Step 3
Heat oil in a pan and fry the puris on low flame till they turn golden and crispy.
Step 4
Turn them slowly so that they cook well. Frying on low flame makes them crispy to the hilt.
Step 5
Serve hot with curd, spicy potato curry or spicy chutney. Masala puri tastes best when it is fresh and hot.
